Half way between Les Eyzies and Montignac-Lascaux, it is very much appreciated by families: its natural caves were occupied by prehistoric man and then modified to become a fort and a town of the Middle Ages until the beginning of the Renaissance.

Le village de Bournat (Bournat village)

25 minutes from ‘Les Pastourels’ campsite

 A village of days gone by with a fairground of the same period, in a pretty park. Parents can go on the rides with their children for all to enjoy. You can also see artisans work as in <<the days of grandparents>>

Our advice:Ideal for families with young children. Allow a day, or at least several hours, refreshments available or you can picnic on the site.

“The suspended gardens of Marqueyssac”

15 minutes from ‘Les Pastourels’ campsite

 Ideal for families with very young children, or couples who do not go on longer walks.

 

The  play areas situated in different parts of the garden motivate the children to walk enabling the parents to appreciate the magnificent views from these gardens. The box maze is equally appreciated by parents and children.

The bigger ones, who do not suffer from vertigo, can profit from the Via ferrata , ideal for an introduction to rock climbing.

Our advice: for people who do not want to go on longer walks. A joint ticket for the gardens and Castelnaud chateau is available.

Thursday evenings in high season the gardens are lit by candlelight, it will please people who like crowds!

 An agreeable park for young and old alike, with slides, inflatables and games on the lake.
